South Pasadena Police Officers’ Association Scholarship Program Application

This annual program is open to all South Pasadena High School seniors and awards monetary scholarships to qualifying and deserving students of character who demonstrate a sincere desire to further their education

Beginning April of each year, the SPPOA will be accepting applications.  Those moving forward must be prepared for an oral interview by a board comprised of SPPOA members, sometime in May.  The finalists will be awarded their scholarships on Senior Award Night, typically held in the last week of May at the South Pasadena High School auditorium.

S.P.P.O.A. is a professional and fraternal organization composed of the men and women of the South Pasadena Police Department. As an organization, S.P.P.O.A. is dedicated to providing service and support to the community. In addition to the scholarship program, other charitable activities include local team sponsorships, donations of both monetary and tangible goods to those in need and support of other local charities and community activities.

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  1. Applicants must be a graduating high school senior with a full-time attendance record.
  2. Minimum 3.0 cumulative G.P.A. throughout high school.
  3. A completed application package including:

Autobiography (one-page maximum, 12-font)

High School transcripts

School Recommendation Letter (i.e. Counselor/Principal/Teacher)

Community Recommendation Letter (i.e. Church/Government Agency)

Please visit the school’s front office for a hardcopy of the application.  The application will provide a deadline for when you need to submit it to the South Pasadena Police Department.
